Mike Skinner

Mike Skinner was born in Croydon but moved to Birmingham when he was 3 years old. Known originally as the frontman of the legendary music project ‘The Streets’, Mike Skinner is a rapper, singer-songwriter, producer and musician. Following their debut in 1994 The Streets rose to fame showcasing their new and unique style. He is still known today for his timeless lyrics and his mix of styles from hip-hop to UK garage and even country western.

After stepping away from The Streets for a short time in 2011 he launched The D.O.T where he focused on producing, they released their first album ‘And That’ in 2012. Since then he has had remixes featured in various albums alongside Context, Slaves and more.

Teaming up with the rap group Murkage in 2015 they formed the group The Tonga Balloon Gang with an EP featuring names like Big Narstie. Since then he has released various digital tracks on his Soundcloud.
